We celebrate changemaker women who are transforming communities and redefining the roles of women in society. From developing mobile apps that can detect fake drugs, reforming waste,fighting back against against societal stereotypes, they are challenging the societal, economic, cultural and political inequalities through social innovations that span from religion to technology. These social entrepreneurs are empowering communities and individual to make positive social change, regardless of their background or gender.

For her innovative solution to solid waste management has earned the title "Refuse Queen". Working in poor congested slums and collecting waste and recycling them for Lagos informal settelements..

Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola and her cofounders started WeCyclers in 2012, using low-cost cargo bicycles called WeCyclers to provide convenient recycling services to households across Nigeria. Through this initiative, Bilikiss has empowered local communities to live with dignity and improved health, helps the environment and generates employment with waste management and recycling jobs often providing women with additional income.

Oluchi Uchegbu is tackling the issues of gender stereotypes and women economic advancement in her community. Through her social enterprise platform Her360africa , she is giving young women hopes and necessary tools through advices,inspirations,mentorship and creating sustainable programs to achieve greatness and explore their potentials to achieve greatness.

HER360AFRICA  has reached thousands of women and girls in the community who are now actively engaged and empowered.

The Tech Guru with Cerebral Palsy

Farida Bedwei has defied all odds and achieved greatness despite her circumstance.  Farida has conquered her challenging condition to become one of the most respected technologists on the African continent. For a woman who has gone through various adversities, but has not allowed life challenges to delimit her.

Farida is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Logicel, a Ghanaian software company that develops  technology solutions which promotes financial inclusion for the unbanked. Farida was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age and she is well known disability rights advocate and has been featured with a number of awards and was named one of the most influential women in business and finance in Ghana.
